Summer Activities in Maple Crest

Summer is here and with the gorgeous weather comes a ton of fantastic activities. There are plenty of things to do in and around Maple Crest in the summer. Read on to learn some great suggestions on what to do this season!

1. Visit the Show Homes

Maple Crest’s show homes are open all summer long!  You can tour beautiful show homes from Bedrock Homes, Homes by Avi, Hopewell Residential, Crystal Creek Homes, and Akash Homes. You can tour beautiful homes of many different styles, from attached garage and laned single family homes to duplexes!

2. Enjoy the Great Outdoors

Maple Crest has a wide variety of natural amenities. You can enjoy all that Fulton Marsh has to offer, with a beautiful water feature as well as walking trails. With a creek, beautiful treed areas, large greenspaces, and more, there’s so much to enjoy outside in Maple Crest! You can play field games, throw a ball around, go biking, fly kites, and much more!

3. Try Out the Fulton Meadows Community League Pop Up Garden

Maple Crest’s community league has put together a pop up garden for the 2022 spring and summer season! You can reserve a space to have your own plot in the garden! This is a great way to spend time outdoors, meet new friends, and enjoy a productive hobby! 

4. Check Out the Meadows Community Recreational Centre

The Meadows Rec Centre offers a variety of fun activities and events, and it’s just a short drive from Maple Crest! You can participate in drop in fitness classes like yoga, Zumba, cycling, kickboxing, and more. The Rec centre also has sports fields, indoor playgrounds, a swimming pool, and more!

5. Participate in Library Events

The Meadows Rec Centre also hosts an Edmonton Public Library location! The Meadows Library is open seven days a week and has a variety of programs. The library offers programs for families with young children, computer skills classes, 3D printing classes for youths, book clubs, and more!

6. Visit an Outdoor Swimming Pool

Outdoor swimming pools offer a fun change of pace and a great, family-friendly environment. If you’re a member of the Fulton Marsh Community League you will get free admission to all the City of Edmonton public outdoor pools. The Mill Creek Outdoor Pool is just a few minutes away from Maple Crest!

7. Plan a Picnic in the Park

Southeast Edmonton has fantastic parks, in and around Maple Crest. Planning a picnic is a fun way to spend time outdoors with family and friends. Maple Crest’s greenspaces and parks offer fantastic places to sit and spend time with loved ones enjoying a tasty spread. Maple Crest will also be opening a brand new playground in the fall, adding another great space to enjoy!

8. Check Out a Green Shack Program

The City of Edmonton runs fantastic summer activities called Green Shack Programs. Event leaders host a wide variety of activities suck as games, challenges and special events related to sports, crafts, music, and drama. The Summer Green Shack runs from July 4th to August 25th, Monday through Friday, and there’s a morning program hosted in Maple Crest! These programs are from 10:30am to 1:30pm at the Maple Park Playground on Maple Way. There are also plenty of other fantastic Green Shack programs that run at other times and locations throughout the City. 

Summertime is here in full swing with beautiful weather and bright green grass and trees. Southeast Edmonton has so much to offer with fun activities for children of all ages, as well as adults and families.
